The most important task of buildingSMART is the further development and standardization of open standards for the software-independent information exchange in BIM projects. Moreover, the association takes care of the definition and standardization of associated work processes. The work is organized nation-wide by regional groups.
The Ostwestfalen/Lippe/Münster/Osnabrück regional group has just been established. Together with the buildingSMART regional groups “Rhineland” and “Rhine-Ruhr”, the participants will contribute to the North Rhine-Westphalia BIM cluster. In this context, the ARGE is part of a 16- member coordination committee. Also, ARGE associate Daniel Piel has been elected as one of five regional spokespersons. Besides networking, the group wants to address itself to the definition of structures and processes associated with BIM in particular, and promote acceptance of the application in practice.
Regional groups are open to all interested parties of the region – whether they are buildingSMART members or not. More information: https://www.buildingsmart.de
